Now TV (NOW) Membership Shake up From 15th july 2021
I am going to explain what is changing with Now TV (NOW) and who is affected
Now will scrap its free multi-screen option and will introduce adverts on its on-demand video services from 15th July 2021, unless you pay for an extra optional Boost add-on service, which now is rising in price. however you can cancel your subscription at any point penalty-free if you’re unhappy about the shake-up.
You will need to take out a Boost to avoid adverts and to watch Now on multiple screens from 15 July
Here’s what is changing (note that ‘Now TV’ have rebranded to ‘Now’ in March 2021):
- All Now customers who sign-up or rejoin from 15 July, plus all existing Now customers who don’t have Boost, will be subject to adverts on on demand video content unless they take out Boost. Currently, Now TV plays adverts on its live services provided via its parent company SkyTV, but not on its on-demand video services. But from 15 July NOW on-demand services will now be subject to ads. I don’t know exactly how this will work –
- All Now customers who sign-up or rejoin from 15 July, plus all existing Now customers who don’t have Boost, will need the Boost add-on to watch content across more than one screen at the same time. Until 15 July, you can watch Now TV on two different screens at the same time – this is included in your standard subscription price or you can pay for Boost, which enables you to watch three screens at a time. But from 15 July, you’ll only be able to watch content on more than one screen at a time if you have Boost.
- Boost Membership prices for new subscribers or rejoining customers will rise by £2/mth from 15 July. Boost prices will increase from £3 per montth at present to £5 per month. Boost already enables you to watch content across three different devices, as well as providing HD services and improved sound quality. But from 15 July, it will also enable ad-free viewing across all on-demand channels
